Accountability
Corrections
How we handle being wrong.
The policy
When we publish something incorrect, the article carries a dated correction saying what was wrong and what is right. The correction stays on the article permanently. We do not silently edit a claim and leave the page reading as though it always said the corrected version.
Typographical fixes that change no meaning are made without a notice. Anything that changes what a reader would understand gets one.
Reporting an error
Write to official@ourelected.com with the article, the specific claim, and the source you believe is correct. Point at the specific sentence — a general disagreement with a story’s framing is worth sending too, but it is a different thing from a factual error and we will treat it differently.
Nothing is published yet, so this page is currently a statement of intent rather than a log. Once coverage begins, corrections issued will be listed here as well as on the articles themselves.
